Visit Snell Isle and you will see, smell, and touch hints of Europe mixed with Florida waterfront elegance. This premier subdivision offers a multitude of luxury homes in addition to numerous boat docks and waterfront views.

Positioned among a private golf club and Tampa Bay, Snell Islandharkens back to the 1920's when much of the island was established. Most all of the streets favor concrete signs fashoned out of panter, griffin, and bird statues. Luxury living abounds.

Snell Isle or Island St. Petersburg History.

The history of the island traces to C. Perry Snell, who traveled throughout Europe and developed a taste for luxury living. Upon returning to the St. Petersburg area in 1899 he decided to purchase waterfront property.

Snell Isle was a 1928 gift of land to the St. Petersburg Women's Club. The Women's Club began work to have the City build a new bridge over the Bayou and on Christmas Day 1931. The new bridge was dedicated and soon opened to traffic. Since then the area has remained a distinctive community with a European atmosphere and waterfront lifestyle.

Snell has a non-profit corporation for the neighborhood dedicated to the continual improvement of the community. The Snell Isle Property Owners Association, Inc wishes to maintain the neighborhood and the Snell Isle way of life.

Snell Isles Boundries

The Isle includes the penninsula east of 34th Ave and Locust St.; to the waters of Coffee Pot Bayou, Snell Isle Harbor, and Tampa Bay. The Isles include the shorelines of Eden Isle and Snell Isle Estate. The area is accessible by the Snell Isle Bridge and the Shore Acres Bridge.

Homes in Snell Isle range in the high 300's to well above 3 Million dollars. Most all of the properties have soared in value and continue to be the standard to St. Petersburg luxury living. A number of one story homes are currently being replaced with two story mansions.
