Many of the homes are in the 1920's craftsman style in addition to relocated homes from the 1930's. Later on additional homes were built in the subdivision.
In the late 1990's Kenwood was considered a superb value in affordable housing, but as the years have progressed the prices have risen. Recently the subdivision received historic status and the area's prestige keeps increasing. Kenwood Historic Real Estate TodayHistoric Kenwood continues to attract a diverse population of married couples, singles, and large families, The area offers a historic neighborhood at an affordable price. Some locals tell of a Kenwood history of citrus groves in the area and coal storage. This history has yet to be confirmed. Kenwood received partnership grants to improve the community. One grant was used for the pavilion in the neighborhood park then the second grant was used for neighborhood signs.
