Crescent
Heights and Crescent Lake neighborhoods are hemmed in by 4th St N and
9th St North, just minutes away from downtown St. Petersburg. After driving
the neighborhood you will immediately notice the mature oak trees, brick
lined streets, and quaint bungalow homes. According to the neighborhood
association about 60 percent of the homes would qualify as a historical
landmark site.
The
Crescent Heights and Crescent Lake neighborhoods were built around the
freshwater lake which now serves as a public park and fitness trail.
The Lake community lies just south of 22nd Avenue while the Heights community
lies to the north of 22nd Avenue.
Architecture
styles range from Mediterranean Revival, to Colonial Revival, to Florida
Bungalows, and countless other styles. Inside Crescent Heights homes
it is easy to find hard pine and oak flooring, period built in cabinetry,
and brick fireplaces. The common thread is that people that live in the
community take great pride in their restored homes and surroundings.
In
the 1980's this area was the higher ground alternative to Old Northeast
at an affordable price. Now the Crescent Heights and Lake neighborhood
have almost been fully restored and command prices in the 300's and 400's.
Buyers pay a premium for fully restored 1920's architecture and the convenient
location.
